CONTEMPORARY CZECH ANIMATION 01 02 03 04 05 06
Date: Friday, September 7th
Venue: Grand Hall
Time: 6:00 pm
In our selection you will see student films mostly. Globally, films by students overshadow almost anything (apart from the gaming industry) that Czech animation produces. They are regularly featured in selections of prestigious festivals all around the world. Apart from very successful recent student films such as Happy End or Fruits of Clouds in our selection we included brand new ones which have just started their festival journeys. They are all characterized by fearless design and original stories. This way you can taste most of the main Czech schools for animation. At the same time we would like to kindly offer you films out of academy milieu. It´s an experimental piece Life in Patterns by Vojtěch Domlátil and completely fresh films Neighbours by Martin Búřil and the winner of Anifilm national competition Walking and Running by Vít Pancíř. Together it could be seen as proof that contemporary animation scene in the Czech Republic is very promising and self-confident.
