Calling Things by Their Real Name: 27

With this season's big awards, the Palme d'Or in Cannes and the most prestigious world award for animated film Annecy's Crystal, the new work of Hungarian director and animator Flóra Anna Buda is coming to Animanima's audience, the film 27.

This is a drama with unusual twists in which we follow 27-year-old Alice's attempts to change something in her predictable, monotonous everyday life. After a psychedelic party and an incident with a bicycle, a meeting with the representatives of the law will follow with a very unconventional outcome.

Reflecting on the topic of the position of a young woman in the contemporary social context, where coexisting sex, drugs, patriarchal family, urban entropy (to use the title of Flóra’s previous film for a moment), Flóra Anna Buda is a provocative, brave, uncompromising author!
